MAME allows one computer to run a variety of original Arcade games, where the original amusement machines were limited to the one game they were built for. MAME arcade machines are capable of running thousands of different classic games, simply by selecting games from an inbuilt menu.

Although most of the MAME games are ancient in computer terms (most are dated in the 1980's) they run as good, if not better on the updated hardware we use in our cocktail cabinets.

Using the updated graphics capabilities of more modern equipment means the graphics are usually more vivid and fluid than the original, whilst the game play stays true to the original.
